GOCHISOUSAMA

Gochisousama (deshita) – thank you for the meal

At the end of the meal, Japanese people say GOCHISOUSAMA DESHITA or GOCHISOUSAMA to thank the cook or to express general thanks for the meal. Gochisousama deshita is more polite and used when in a formal setting. It is often said with a little bow and a thankful face.
